HOW DRU CATCH SEES IT
The Defense Attorney Became the Judge and Gave Himself a Standing Ovation
The guy who literally defended Trump through four indictments is now the Attorney General, and his first big observation is that the DOJ he now runs is being nicer to Ilhan Omar than the old DOJ was to his former client. That's not a revelation. That's a Yelp review from the new owner of the restaurant.
Those Gag Orders Weren't Random Acts of Cruelty, Todd
Todd Blanche went on a podcast to brag that his Department of Justice isn't seeking gag orders against Omar - as if restraint toward a defendant is some magnanimous gift rather than, you know, standard fucking procedure for cases that don't involve a candidate publicly attacking judges and witnesses on social media daily. The previous gag orders weren't imposed because prosecutors were mean. They were imposed because courts found Trump's public statements threatened the integrity of proceedings. Blanche knows this. He was in the courtroom.
The Anti-Weaponization Task Force Has a Podcast Now
The real comedy is structural. Blanche is simultaneously claiming the Biden DOJ weaponized justice against Trump and that his DOJ is not weaponizing justice against Omar - while standing at the helm of a department actively investigating a sitting congresswoman from the opposing party. He accused Democrats of "gaslighting the American people" about weaponization while appearing on a partisan podcast to draw favorable comparisons between his boss's treatment and his target's treatment. That's not anti-weaponization. That's a press tour for the new management.

When the former defense attorney becomes the Attorney General and publicly compares his client's treatment to the current defendant's, is that transparency or is it the DOJ's new PR department?
